BLENDED OPEN DISTANCE LEARNING (ODL) CHALLENGES IN 21ST CENTURY: PRIMARY FINDINGS FROM ODL STUDENTS FROM MALAWI

The purpose of this study was to investigate and document the challenges facing Open Distance Learning students at Central Christian University (CCU) other institutions higher learning in Malawi. conducted CCU Blantyre main centre with 8 which offer programs on ODL. employed both qualitative quantitative approaches. data collection techniques were questionnaires structured interviews, supplemented by documentary review. Tables, frequencies percentages key descriptive statistics used analyse present findings. results showed that ODL learners challenged a range obstacles their course studies. most reported lack sufficient time for study, difficulties access use ICT, ineffective feedback materials. It recommended should strive achieve effective balanced teaching system satisfies desire extent they would wish come back institution further studies feel proud recommend others who are seeking knowledge.
